16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.   (John 3:16-18 (NKJV)

The Gospel Plan of Salvation

Are you saved? Are you sure? With all of the religious confusion in the world today, how can one be sure of their standing before God? Ways of approaching God seeking salvation from sin and this world's evil largely depend upon which group of believers or religion you chose to ask.

There are all types of religious groups that vary in approach and philosophy leading to much confusion. Groups that teach salvation purely of works of self effort and perfection to groups that teach faith only with no effort on the part of the believer. Some groups teach that it is solely up to God to choose who will be saved and who will not leaving man in the dark, not knowing if God has chosen them or not- how sad.

God is not the author of such confusion. He wants us to understand.

1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV)
33  For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
9  The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

We CAN know for sure where we stand before God if we seek him through His Inspired Word, the Bible. It is so wonderful to know that we have a God who truly wants us to be saved and have a relationship with Him for all eternity.

We have all heard the verse in John 3:16 concerning God's sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth as a man, live a perfect life we could not live ourself, die on a cross for our sins, and save mankind from himself. This is truly Good News, but is this it? Are things this simple?

God has a plan for every man, woman, and child concerning salvation.  It is plain and very simple to understand. I will share this plan with you using His Words, not mine. Please consider His Words and Plan. If you have any questions, you can get in touch with us or come and visit us when we meet as a family.

1. HEAR THE WORD OF GOD                                                                                                                                  (Romans 10:17 (NKJV)                                                                                                                                             17  So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)
8  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9  not of works, lest anyone should boast.

BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST AND HIS WORD                                                                                                        (John 8:24 (NKJV)                                                                                                                                                     24  Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."                                                                                                                                               (Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)                                                                                                                                               6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

CONFESS JESUS AS LORD                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          (Matthew 10:32-33 (NKJV)
32  "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.
33  But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

REPENT OF YOUR SINS                                                                                                                                         (Acts 17:30 (NKJV)                                                                                                                                                  30  Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

(Acts 2:38 (NKJV)                                                                                                                                                     38  Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

(Luke 13:3 (NKJV)                                                                                                                                                    3  I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

BE BAPTIZED FOR REMISSION OF SINS

(Acts 2:38 (NKJV)
38  Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 22:16 (NKJV)
16  And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Romans 10:13 (NKJV)
13  For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."    As the Apostle Paul makes clear, baptism is calling on the name of the Lord

1 Peter 3:21 (NKJV)
21  There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

LIVE A FAITHFUL LIFE TO GOD

Revelation 3:11-12 (NKJV)
11  Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
12  He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Hebrews 10:26-27 (NKJV)
26  For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27  but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Each of these scripture verses are describing and discussing the way to be saved on God's terms. Each part of the plan is not sufficient in and of itself to suffice.  We must respond to God in every way through hearing His word in order to develop the faith God requires to respond in obedience to that word. We must believe His Word and Jesus, His Son. We must confess our faith and trust in Jesus. Repent of the sin that separates us from God. Be baptized for forgiveness of sins (a response of faith not a work of man. It is a work of God in giving us His Spirit to live the Christian Life. It is the only act of faith the Father will accept. All through the book of conversions (Acts) have this response as the only one offered to God that he accepted.

Acts 2:41 (NKJV)
41  Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Acts 2:47 (NKJV)
47  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

It is very plain to see that it is GOD who adds to His church; not man. We must do things HIS way and NOT OURS.
